James waits to define his future
Everton star James Rodriguez “is still waiting to define” his future at the club as he looks increasingly likely to leave this summer, according to a report.
The midfielder returned to Finch Farm yesterday as the Blues entered their preseason under new manager Rafa Benitez.
According to Sport Witness, reports in Italy have indicated that AC Milan may be interested in a deal, while in Colombia it is widely believed that the player’s relationship with Benitez is likely to see him seek an exit.
Their article states:
His agent Jorge Mendes is believed to be working on getting one, and Antena 2 is reporting today that Rodriguez is waiting to see what his efforts come to fruition.
They state that the midfielder is ‘still waiting’ define his future as ‘everything indicates’ he will not stay at Everton.
According to them it will ‘work in the next few days’ as expected, but in reality he’s just waiting to see what happens with Mendes, who is reportedly traveling to Italy to finalize his move to Milan.
Antena 2 backs claims of a bad relationship with Benitez, claiming that there is ‘no empathy’ between the pair, and it sparked his departure.
All of this is backed up by Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, who adds that Mendes is expected in Milan this week to negotiate a possible transfer for Rodriguez.
